Looking Beyond Loss

I’ve got pretty good vision, but I’ve been having trouble seeing lately.  There’s a drape of confusion and pain covering stuff around me and, I have to admit, it’s hard for me to see beyond my loss.

God’s patient with me, though.  He’ll help me figure it out.

God will help you figure it out, too.

Yup. Life might be hard right now and we’re feeling loss ….

BUT

God’s telling us to look beyond loss.

We need to look to see beauty, blessings and hope.

✅ Folks, we’re  half-way through my Top Ten Tips for Coping.

In case you need a reminder, here they are:

Laurie’s Top Ten Tips for Tough Times!

✅ Number five on the list  is LOOK

✅ I learned to read from Dick and Jane.

That makes me pretty old.  Dick and Jane Readers contained one-word pages.

LOOK !  The book shouted ….and I did.

Let’s not stop looking

No matter where you walk in life, LOOK

Look for beauty

✅ Look for blessings

✅ Look for God

✅ Beauty, blessings: God gifts are everywhere

…even in the midst of dirt and despair

✅ My First Grade reader taught me

✅ LOOK!

✅ Don’t stay parked in pain.

✅ LOOK!

✅ When times are tough, it’s easy to get overwhelmed

✅ We may only see what’s lost, but, as the Dick and Jane Reader says:

STOP!

LOOK!

Look beyond the pain to the Promise

✅  God has some great words to say about LOOKING

✅ Let’s take another tip from Dick and Jane and …

✅ LISTEN (to God)

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – Psalm 105:4

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? – Matthew 6: 26,27

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corin 4:18

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. – Psalm 27:13

Watch. Stand fast in the Faith, be brave; be strong.

Do everything in love. –  1 Corin 16:13-14
