I will not lose my song.

At 65 I can’t remember where I left my keys, but I can remember every word of a Broadway showtune.
Since I was little, I loved to sing.
I believe singing is a God gift. God gave me a little body and a big mouth – What can I say?
I’m grateful.
I sing to share joy.
For many years, my life was joy. It was so easy to sing.
Then life and dreams were shattered. Trauma ensued. I wondered:
Could I lose my song?
After months of turmoil and processing the loss of my love of 40 years, I realized:
I CANNOT lose my song.
Neither can you.
Whether you sing your song, play it on an instrument, or listen intently…

Don’t Lose Your SONG
✅ Don’t lose your song.
✅ Your song is the lovely music God has given you to share with others
✅ Music reconnects your brain to your soul
✅ Music reawakens something deep inside.
✅ Music redirects the brain to calmer places.
✅ Some music awakens raw feelings – allowing you to deal with them and…let go.
✅ Some music flows like balm over raw feelings – comforting the heart
✅ Seek out God’s music
✅ Music heals
I recently had the honor of performing as Luisa in the musical, The Fantasticks.

I consider it a true miracle this 65 year-old played a whimsical, innocent 16 year-old on stage.

I sang and danced with all my might and…there on stage…I healed a bit.
In the midst of performances of this poetic love story, I came to grips with my lost love.

Singing released some sorrow.
God knew just what I needed.
God, I’m so grateful.
I continue to sing.
I invite you to join me.
🎶God won’t let us lose our songs. 🎶

This is @typeachecklist Life Verse:
I will sing to the Lord all my life I will sing to the LORD as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath! – Psalm 104:33
Here are other lovely verses about music:
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. – Psalm 40:30
My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. -Psalm 57:7
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. – Psalm 95:1
Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him – Psalm 98:1
Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. – Psalm 135:3
…speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit.
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord – Ephesians 5:19

Love this post. Paise God for the healing you experienced. May you never lose your song and always look young enough to play sixteen yr olds.

Haha! Thank you! I can play 16 from far away on a stage with makeup 😜. To God be the glory! It’s so special sharing a momentary escape and joy with audiences. That is a special love ❤️ 🎶
