The Big Three At 63…or…Advice to the 63 Year Old ME

OK…I admit it.

Today is my 63rd birthday.                                     This morning I took one look at myself in the mirror and groaned.

Truth be told, I was feeling            a little sorry        for myself.

Straighten up, Laurie.

Get a grip…and think it through. Hmmmm….

Here are                                               Three Top Tips                                 for Turning 63.

1. Lighten up.

For Heaven’s sake, start having fun.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22

2. Laugh.                                                                     Don’t take things so seriously.

3. Thank God every day.

My gosh, at least you can walk to the mirror, Laurie. At least you have eyes to see your wrinkles. My goodness!  At least you can function well enough to feel your aches.

—Don’t take anything for granted.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2

(Here’s more about ME….at 63)

I’m a performer. Hammy. Singer. Dancer. I love to perform in musicals.
I like to make people laugh.
I like….to bike
I don’t mind getting dirty.
I used to be kinda pretty.
Now I’m kinda goofy.
I love to swing. (Does that make me a swinger?)
I love my sweats and socks. My life uniform. That’s cause I work all the time .
Heights do not bother me. I am always sent on roofing, gutter and chimney projects.
I have trouble sleeping, except for onstage. (By the way, I’m not a nun. I just played one in Sister Act!)

  1. Laurie,
I missed your 63rd Birthday…praying for a fabulous year into your 64th. I will celebrate my 73rd on October 9, and enter my 74th…I have always loved Jesus, but my relationship with Him wasn’t always the most important thing. So many other things got in the way, and I still struggle with that issue. But the one thing I know in this season of my life is this, nothing, just not one thing is more rewarding than relationship with Him! So, as your elder…I say to you, Have the best year ever, pray with Him, laugh with Him, tell Him absolutely everything (even though He already knows it, He wants you to talk to Him about it), cry with Him when you need to, He will comfort you, and alway know that not one thing you can ever do will make Him love you less. Jesus adores you! 63 full years is amazing, and I know it’s going to be just Marvelous!❤️
